February 1st marked the end of Dine LA and the start of the 14 day count down till Valentines Day. This year my boyfriend and I got to experience Dine LA which comes around once a year around mid January till the first of February. During this time, many expensive restaurants in the LA region participate by creating a special three to four course menu with a discounted price for customers. They offer lunch and dinner with prices ranging from $15-$45 dollars a person. If you missed out this year, definitely mark your calenders for next year because this event is a great way to indulge in fine dining if you are on a budget.
As you can tell by the title, we went to Melting Pot in Pasadena. This place is a fondue restaurant that specializes in fine dining and setting a romantic ambiance. It's also known to be really expensive which is why we took advantage of their Dine LA deal.
First Course: Cheese Fondue-Wisconsin Trio "Fontina, Butterkäse and buttermilk bleu cheeses with white wine, scallions and a hint of sherry."
Fourth Course: Desert-Cookies N Creme Marshmallow Dream "Dark chocolate and marshmallow cream flambéed and topped with bits of delicious Oreo® cookies."
The food was incredible especially the desert was like no other. We both agreed to come back next year for the four course experience or at least just for desert. Our server was so nice and funny and even gave us extra strawberries and brownies free of charge. All in all I had a great experience at my first fondue restaurant and I was glad to have shared it with my someone special :)
